The Spelman College Glee Club, a historic group celebrating its 100th anniversary, will deliver a moving rendition of “America the Beautiful.” Their performance honors the club’s century-long legacy of musical excellence and cultural impact.
Two students from the Atlanta Area School for the Deaf will also join the festivities. Fourteen-year-old Johrgia Peaches will perform “America the Beautiful” in American Sign Language, while 20-year-old Alexander Charlot will sign the national anthem.
Martin Luther King Day Adds Special Meaning
Taking place on Martin Luther King Day, the championship game carries added significance. Dr. Bernice A. King, daughter of the Civil Rights leader and CEO of The King Center, will perform the coin toss.
