Simone I. Smith, a celebrated jewelry designer and wife of hip-hop legend LL Cool J, has introduced a new holiday that puts sisterhood in the spotlight. National SISMAS Day is officially recognized to celebrate the bonds of friendship and sisterhood every second Saturday of December.

This festive day began as a personal tradition for Smith and her close friends. Now, it has grown into a national occasion meant to bring women together. The first National SISMAS Day took place on Saturday, December 14, offering women across the country a chance to celebrate their connections in a meaningful way.

The Heartfelt Vision Behind SISMAS

Smith’s inspiration for National SISMAS Day came from her own experiences of hosting intimate gatherings during the holiday season. These celebrations were filled with laughter, joy, and meaningful conversations that strengthened the bonds of sisterhood.

“As women, we give so much to others. SISMAS is a chance to pause, reconnect, and pour into each other,” Smith shared. Her vision for the holiday is simple yet powerful—an opportunity for women to celebrate themselves and the incredible relationships that uplift their lives.

Legendary rapper Roxanne Shante expressed her enthusiasm for the new holiday on Instagram. “Merry SISMAS! December 14 is the national holiday called SISMAS… a day for us as sisters to enjoy and celebrate each other,” she wrote in a heartfelt post.

How to Celebrate National SISMAS Day

National SISMAS Day offers countless ways to honor sisterhood. Women are encouraged to host festive gatherings, whether small or large, to share special moments with their closest friends and family.

Smith recommends embracing the holiday spirit with themed outfits, comforting foods, and fun activities like dancing, music, or talent shows. Gift exchanges or heartfelt conversations can add an extra touch of meaning to the celebrations, creating memories that last a lifetime.

“SISMAS is about joy, connection, and lasting memories,” Smith explained. “It’s a time to celebrate the women who inspire and support us.”

The Legacy of Sisterhood and Celebration

Simone I. Smith’s journey as a designer and entrepreneur shines through in her creation of SISMAS. Known as the queen of hoop earrings and co-founder of Simone I. Smith Jewelry, she understands the importance of nurturing relationships.

With SISMAS, Smith hopes to create a lasting legacy that honors the joy and strength found in sisterhood. The national recognition of this day ensures that the message of connection and celebration will resonate for years to come.
