Simone Biles is taking her success from gymnastics to the culinary world. She is set to open her first restaurant, Taste of Gold, at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston in early 2025. Known as the most decorated gymnast in U.S. history, Biles is excited to share her love for food with travelers.

Elevating Airport Dining with Tex-Mex Flavors

Biles’ restaurant will feature bold Tex-Mex-inspired flavors that reflect her unique journey. Partnering with The Playmakers Group, Taste of Gold will be located in Terminal A near Gate A8. The menu will be crafted by renowned restaurateur Mark Brezinski, who is known for his impressive work in high-profile dining projects. Biles wants to create dishes that blend comfort and a touch of luxury, giving travelers a delightful dining experience before their flights.

“I am a foodie at heart,” Biles shared, expressing her eagerness to provide something special at her hometown airport. With her signature style, the restaurant aims to be a standout dining spot amid the often mediocre airport food scene.

A Personal Project Rooted in Passion

For Biles, Taste of Gold is more than just a restaurant; it is a personal project that honors her journey. The design and offerings will pay tribute to her successful career in gymnastics, blending her passion for food with her commitment to excellence. Whether you are a weary traveler or a fan of Biles, you can enjoy flavors that resonate with her experiences—from childhood favorites to globally inspired dishes.

Biles envisions a unique experience for everyone passing through the busy airport. “Our hope with Taste of Gold is to offer a beautiful dining experience that features award-winning, signature menu items with some of my favorite flavors sprinkled in for our guests,” she explained.
