Lizzo’s Bold Announcement: A Year of Self-Care

Lizzo captioned her Instagram video, “I’m taking a gap year & protecting my peace🙏🏾.” This move comes after a challenging period for the singer. Fans quickly showed their support. One commented, “It’s nice to see a celebrity actually putting themselves first and admitting they need it before they break down. I wish you well!”

The singer’s decision to prioritize her mental health has resonated with many. Another fan added, “Take all the time you need. We will be here.” Lizzo’s openness about her journey has sparked conversations about the importance of mental health in the entertainment industry.

Recent Challenges: Legal Battles and Online Hate

Lizzo’s break follows a tough year. She faced a lawsuit from three former dancers, who claimed harassment and a hostile work environment. Lizzo denied these claims, stating, “These last few days have been gut-wrenchingly difficult and overwhelmingly disappointing.”

In March, the singer hinted at quitting music due to online hate. However, she later clarified that she was only quitting “giving any negative energy attention.” Lizzo emphasized, “What I’m not going to quit is the joy of my life, which is making music, which is connecting to people, cause I know I’m not alone.”

Looking Forward: Growth and New Music

Despite the challenges, Lizzo remains positive about her future. In a recent video, she reflected on her personal growth over the past three years. She hinted at new music, saying, “I wasn’t gonna post this on IG, but 2021 me would be soooo proud of 2024 me.”

The singer also teased an upcoming album about her journey. She wrote, “And I’m NOT only talking about my body if yall only KNEWWWW what I’ve done for my mental & emotional health in the last year… wheeeew don’t worry imma write an album about it 🤭”
