SZA, the talented singer and songwriter, has made history with her SOS Tour. She became the fourth Black woman artist to gross over $100 million from a single tour. This impressive achievement puts her in the company of Beyoncé, Tina Turner, and Rihanna.

SZA’s Historic SOS Tour

SZA’s SOS Tour grossed an incredible $113,119,055 and sold 807,700 tickets. This was her second concert tour and her first arena tour. The tour followed the success of her sophomore album, ‘SOS,’ which topped the Billboard 200 chart for ten consecutive weeks.

SZA shared the stage with other top artists, including Dua Lipa and Coldplay, during a headlining performance at Glastonbury. Her success on the SOS Tour solidified her status as a leading voice in contemporary R&B.

Rising to Fame

SZA, whose real name is Solána Imani Rowe, has been making waves in the music industry since her debut album, “Ctrl,” released in 2017. The album received praise and featured collaborations with Kendrick Lamar, Justin Timberlake, and Travis Scott. Her popular hits include “Love Galore” featuring Travis Scott, “The Weekend,” and “Good Days.”

Besides her own projects, SZA has worked with other artists, such as Kendrick Lamar, on the Grammy-winning track “All the Stars” for the “Black Panther” soundtrack. Her collaborations and solo work have earned her a dedicated fan base and critical acclaim.

Recognitions and Awards

In June 2024, SZA received the Hal David Starlight Award at the Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction and Awards dinner. This award honors “gifted young songwriters who are making a significant impact in the music industry with their original songs.” SZA became the second Black woman to receive this honor, following Alicia Keys in 2005.

Born in St. Louis and raised in Maplewood, New Jersey, SZA has grown into an influential artist. Her achievements continue to inspire many, and her dedication to her craft sets her apart in the music industry.
