Rookie Sensation Dominates WNBA Headlines

Angel Reese, the Chicago Sky’s standout rookie, has written her name in WNBA history. She became the first rookie this season to be named WNBA Player of the Week.

This accolade follows Reese’s record-breaking streak of 14 consecutive double-doubles. Her impressive performance has set a new benchmark in the league.

During week seven, Reese averaged 16.8 points, 14 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. These statistics underscore her significant impact on the court.

Reese’s Remarkable Rookie Season

Reese’s stellar performance extends beyond a single week. In June, she was named WNBA Rookie of the Month.

Her June averages of 14.5 points and 13.2 rebounds per game were exceptional. Reese maintained double-digit rebounds in all 11 games that month.

Currently, Reese leads the league in rebounding with an average of 11.4 per game. This statistic cements her status as a dominant force on the boards.

All-Star Recognition and Team Records

Reese’s outstanding play has earned her a spot in the WNBA’s 20th All-Star Game. The event is scheduled for July 20 in Phoenix.

Together with teammate Kamilla Cardoso, Reese has set another record. They’ve achieved double-doubles in the same game three times this season.

This feat marks the most double-doubles by a rookie duo in WNBA history. It highlights the Sky’s promising future with these young talents.

Beyond the Court: Reese’s Personal Style

Off the court, Reese has been making headlines with her personal style choices. She recently debuted a new look on social media.

Reese candidly shared her struggles with wigs, stating, “me and wigs don’t go together.” She expressed a preference for natural hairstyles.

This openness about her personal style choices adds to Reese’s relatability and fan appeal.
