Jeneé Naylor’s remarkable journey from a Target store manager to a celebrated designer for the retail giant’s Future Collective line is a testament to the power of passion, perseverance, and embracing opportunities. This inspiring tale showcases how dedicating oneself to a dream can lead to extraordinary achievements.

From Fashion Sketches to Retail Success

Naylor’s love for fashion took root early on, as she spent her school days sketching designs, ultimately pursuing a degree in fashion merchandising. However, her path took an unexpected turn when she joined Target in 2012 as an associate, working her way up to become a store director over seven years of hard work and dedication.

“From sketching designs in high school to working in retail, fashion has always been a passion of mine,” Naylor shared. “It wasn’t until I was working full-time that I started posting my outfits on social media and gaining traction.”

Balancing Passion with Profession

While juggling her demanding role at Target, Naylor found solace in her fashion pursuits, meticulously creating and batch-posting content during her days off. This consistent effort soon blossomed into a full-fledged blog, and eventually, a YouTube channel, which gained traction during the pandemic.

“My career at Target taught me some invaluable lessons,” Naylor reflected. “I learned how to pay attention to the details, mastered the essential art of project management, and transformed into an impactful leader.”

The Full-Circle Moment with Future Collective

Naylor’s dedication and talent did not go unnoticed, and her journey came full circle when Target invited her to be the latest partner for their Future Collective brand. With over 70 pieces, ranging from resort wear to wardrobe staples, Naylor’s collection celebrates individuality and accessibility, with most items priced under $35.

“This is such a meaningful, full-circle moment that I’m honestly still processing,” Naylor expressed. “From opening and prepping Target stores each season to being the current partner for Target’s Future Collective brand — it’s all such a ‘pinch-me’ moment!”

Inspiring Others to Chase Their Dreams

Naylor’s inspiring journey serves as a reminder to pursue one’s passions relentlessly. As she reflects on her success, she hopes to motivate others to follow their dreams, even while navigating the demands of a full-time job.

“I hope to inspire someone to go after their dreams and chase that thing in the pit of their stomach telling them to keep going,” Naylor shared. “It’ll all pay off in the end.”
