Trailblazing Attorney Disrupts Legal Industry

Neidy Hornsby, the founder of NOIR IP, is shaking up the legal industry. Her business and trademark law firm exclusively serves women entrepreneurs, filling a gap in access to bespoke legal services. Hornsby’s mission is clear: to empower female founders by providing quality legal services at predictable flat fees.

In an interview with Canvas Rebel, Hornsby declared, “For far too long, women have been launching incredible businesses without establishing a strong legal foundation.” She aims to change that through NOIR IP’s disruptive model, challenging the traditional hourly billing practices.

“Traditionally, attorneys bill by the hour. We have decided to challenge that model. Our core belief is that entrepreneurs should be able to build out their vision unencumbered by mounting legal fees,” Hornsby explained.

Uplifting Women, One Trademark at a Time

Hornsby’s journey to founding NOIR IP was fueled by her desire to design a life that aligned with her values. After working at some of the biggest law firms in Florida, she realized that a traditional corporate structure did not support her aspirations.

“I started my business because I wanted a career that added value to my other important roles,” said Hornsby, a wife and mother of three. “I knew instinctively that I had to design my life and not simply live it.”

From Open Door to Niche Expertise

Initially, Hornsby’s practice was open to anyone who could pay for her services. However, this “door law” approach felt disjointed, prompting her to reflect on her true passion.

“Throughout that time, I was able to think clearly about the kind of law that truly interested me. I gradually began to help entrepreneurs safeguard their brand identity through the trademark process,” she recalled.

Word-of-Mouth Success and Legacy Building

Since 2019, Hornsby’s reputation has grown rapidly among entrepreneurial women, with 98% of new business coming from word-of-mouth referrals. Her firm, NOIR IP, serves female founders exclusively, with the vast majority being women of color.

“I cannot be happier. I get to serve women who are building legacy,” Hornsby exclaimed. Her goal is to “lift as she climbs,” ensuring that fellow like-minded women entrepreneurs can exceed their wildest dreams.

Authenticity and Valuable Content Drive Social Media Growth

Hornsby’s approach to social media revolves around providing timely, valuable, and relevant information to her audience. Her authenticity resonates with followers, who often express surprise at her approachable demeanor, countering the stereotypical notion of how an attorney should sound.

“I’m not sure what an attorney is supposed to sound like. I’m just happy that they can see me for who I am,” Hornsby said.

With her disruptive pricing model, niche expertise, and commitment to uplifting women entrepreneurs, Neidy Hornsby and NOIR IP are igniting a revolution in the legal industry, one trademark at a time.
