In a move to combat the alarming diabetes epidemic, registered dietitians and entrepreneurs Wendy Lopez and Jessica Jones have launched Diabetes Digital, a pioneering digital platform transforming diabetes and prediabetes management.

Culturally Competent Care: The Heart of the Platform

Recognizing the need for culturally competent solutions, Diabetes Digital offers virtual nutrition counseling tailored to diverse communities. The platform provides weight-inclusive and culturally sensitive care, including comprehensive hour-long appointments and virtual consultations in Spanish.

“Diabetes Digital is more than a platform; it’s a movement towards personalized and empathetic diabetes care,” said Jessica Jones, CEO.

Addressing Systemic Barriers Head-On

Diabetes Digital responds to alarming statistics highlighting systemic barriers impacting the Black community’s healthcare access. In 2018, African American adults were 60% more likely than non-Hispanic white adults to be diagnosed with diabetes.

Committed to making quality care accessible, Diabetes Digital welcomes Medicare customers and accepts various insurance plans, ensuring individuals from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds can access vital care.

“It’s important people see themselves in health and wellness to feel it’s attainable,” said Wendy Lopez, emphasizing representation’s significance in the industry.

A Holistic Approach to Diabetes Management

With plans to expand across 23 states and beyond, Diabetes Digital aims to provide a holistic, empathetic approach to diabetes care, empowering individuals while championing inclusivity and representation in healthcare.

Through their groundbreaking platform, Lopez and Jones spearhead a movement addressing the diabetes epidemic while challenging systemic barriers, ensuring every individual, regardless of background, has access to resources and support for a healthy, fulfilling life.
