Rising Star Balances Acting and Academics with Grace

At just 20 years old, Storm Reid has already achieved remarkable success in the entertainment industry, with an Emmy win under her belt and a starring role in the critically acclaimed HBO series “The Last of Us.”

However, this talented young actress is not resting on her laurels, as she prepares to embark on her senior year at the prestigious University of Southern California (USC).

Reid’s journey to fame has been nothing short of extraordinary. From her breakout role in Ava DuVernay’s 2018 film “A Wrinkle in Time” to her standout performance in the popular show “Euphoria,” she has captivated audiences with her talent and poise, quickly becoming one of Hollywood’s most sought-after young actresses.

Emmy Glory and Heartfelt Gratitude

In January 2024, Reid’s hard work and dedication were recognized when she won the Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal of Riley Abel in “The Last of Us.” In a heartfelt acceptance speech, she expressed her gratitude and honored her mother for the sacrifices she made to support her daughter’s dreams.

“I wouldn’t be where I am without her,” Reid said, her voice trembling with emotion. “She instilled in me values like keeping God first, being a good human, and understanding that to whom much is given, much is required.”

Her mother’s influence has been a constant source of strength and motivation, guiding her through the challenges of balancing her academic pursuits with her blossoming acting career.

Navigating College Life with Determination

As Reid prepares to enter her senior year at USC, she remains focused on completing her studies while continuing to pursue her passion for acting. With a disciplined approach to scheduling and time management, she has managed to excel in both realms, proving that it is possible to achieve success without compromising one’s goals.

“It’s all about scheduling for me,” Reid explained. “I take it day by day, try to stick to my routine, and have learned that it is okay to say no. Through scheduling and compromise, I have been able to work while staying on track to graduate next year.”

Her unwavering determination and commitment to her education serve as an inspiration to young people everywhere, showcasing the importance of perseverance and dedication in pursuing one’s dreams.

Embracing New Opportunities and Collaborations

As Reid looks towards the future, she remains tight-lipped about her upcoming projects, teasing an exciting summer movie announcement while hinting at the possibility of reprising her role in “The Last of Us.” However, one collaboration she is eager to discuss is her partnership with Coca-Cola Spiced.

“When I first tasted the flavor, I became an instant fan,” Reid gushed. “It’s refreshing and tastes like a summer day with hints of raspberry. So many words came to mind after my first sip: I pictured long afternoons playing double dutch and warm sunsets.”

Her connection with the brand and her creative input in the immersive art installation and taste experience, “Spiced Shop,” showcase Reid’s versatility and her ability to seamlessly merge her artistic talents with brand collaborations.
