Yvonne Orji, the talented actress known for her role as Molly in the hit TV series “Insecure,” has been open about her choice to remain a virgin until marriage, even at the age of 39.
Orji appeared on an episode of Chelsea Handler’s Dear Chelsea podcast back in September, but a clip where Chelsea inquires about her chastity is going viral.
“Are you still a virgin?” Handler asked Orji. “I am,” she replied. “Oh my God I love this,” Handler replied. “This is the most original guest we’ve ever had on. And what are you, 39? Oh my God. That dam is going to break one day, baby.”
In a world where societal norms often pressure individuals to conform, Orji’s decision is a testament to her strength, values, and determination to stay true to herself.
Her decision to abstain from sex is rooted in her faith and personal beliefs, but she joked about being worried about the man she may spend her life with one day.
“People were like, ‘Oh Yvonne.’ … Pray for him, whoever he is,” said Orji. “There’s a lot of pent-up energy up in here with me.”
