Oprah Winfrey is doing some good in the hood! In case you didn’t know, she owns property in Maui, and is a island resident.
The current wildfires have impacted the media mogul, but not as much as fellow Maui residents which is why she has been offering support to those who have been displaced from their homes.
Oprah was spotted at the Wailuku gymnasium on Thursday, handing out supplies and chatting with residents. She spoke with volunteers and residents, offering to buy supplies for the shelter, including cots, blankets, and toiletries, but also asked what they needed and returned with additional items such as pillows, diapers, and shampoo.
We are continuing to send our prayers and good vibes to those who have been affected by the fires! It is very sad that a lot of ancestral land is being affected, which directly affects these residents’ generational inheritances 🙏🏾 #BWLM💕
