The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) has issued a travel warning for the state of Florida. The warning, which is the first of its kind to be issued by the organization, comes in response to recent incidents of racial profiling and discrimination in the state and the attempt at banning African American studies by Governor Ron DeSantis.

According to the NAACP, Florida has a long history of racial discrimination, and recent incidents have highlighted the need for caution among people of color traveling in the state. One high-profile incident involved a Florida police officer who shot and killed a black man during a traffic stop. The officer was later acquitted of all charges, despite evidence that he had acted negligently.

The NAACP has urged all people of color to take extra precautions when traveling in Florida, including avoiding high-crime areas and being mindful of police interactions. The organization has also called on the state’s lawmakers to pass stronger anti-discrimination laws and to crack down on racial profiling by police and other authorities.
