Living legend #ViolaDavis has finally achieved E.G.O.T. (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony Awards) status!
The decorated actress’ Grammy for Best Audio Book, Narration, and Storytelling Recording for the reading of her memoir:
This win follows her Tony wins in 2001 (King Hedley II) and 2010 (Fences), her 2015 Emmy (How to Get Away With Murder), and Oscar in 2017 (Fences).
Davis won the Grammy today over Questlove, Mel Brooks, Jamie Foxx, and Lin-Manuel Miranda to become the 18th person to achieve EGOT Status.
She is also the third Black woman to attain one of the highest honors that you can receive as an entertainer. #JenniferHudson reached EGOT just last year while Whoopi Goldberg did in 2002.
