Healthy Roots Dolls
We stumbled across some of the greatest dolls to be introduced, probably ever. Think #KenyaDoll from the 90’s but version 5.0.
Healthy Roots Dolls were created to “empower girls through hairplay…” with Zoe being the originator and teaching girls to love their curls. Healthy Roots is a toy company that teaches natural hair care to young girls of color with an array of gorgeous, Black dolls that help us spotlight and celebrate diversity.
We believe it’s another way to show that Black bodies are not monolithic nor is the Black experience and @HealthyRootsDolls is serving with the examples they put out.
On the toy’s website, you can find various hair tutorials; Zoe’s #FlexirodSet or an easy #detanglingtutorial and coming soon, there’ll be a #BoxBraids tutorial.
Mixing the novelty of some of our favorite action figures and the aesthetic appeal of a doll, everyone will find something to celebrate in its beauty. With a user friendly website and constant activity on their social media platforms, don’t take our word for it!
