#BrittneyGriner‘s detention in Russia has now been extended six more months.
In addition, the basketball star is set to appear in court for a preliminary hearing ahead of her trial on Friday July 1st—more than four months after she was arrested at a Moscow airport for allegedly carrying vape cartridges with hashish oil. Griner could face 10 years in prison if convicted.

“ The Phoenix Mercury star was also ordered to remain in custody for the duration of her criminal trial. She could face 10 years in prison if convicted on charges of large-scale transportation of drugs. Fewer than 1% of defendants in Russian criminal cases are acquitted, and unlike in the U.S., acquittals can be overturned.”
Back in May, the U.S. classified Griner as being “wrongfully detained” and is reportedly negotiating her safe return.
We are praying for Britney’s mental health and that she’s safely returned to her family 🙏🏾 #BWLM💕
