Per @bleacherreport – in the past month, #TheLebronJamesFamilyFoundation has announced they are building a multimillion-dollar medical facility that is community driven to serve Akron residents.
Lebron has a history of consistency when it comes to him being a man of his word. With that comes the newest plan to help residents of his hometown, centered on ensuring equitable access to healthcare resources.
The facility will offer a range of services for students and families who are part of the I Promise School family and those who reside in the local community. The “I Promise HealthQuarters” Center will harbor a pharmacy and lab and offer medical, optometry, dental and mental health resources.
Michele Campbell, Executive Director of the LeBron James Family Foundation, stated the I Promise HealthQuarters will serve as a solution to meet the health-related needs of families. Research data from 2018 and 2019, showed the number of uninsured residents in Akron grew by 13.9 percent (datausa)
The #IPromiseHealthQuarters – set to be located at 533 W. Market Street is planning to open its doors in 2023. Project sponsors include Coleman Health Services, AxessPointe Community Health Centers, and the mental health-focused nonprofit Peg’s Foundation.
