The HoneyPot Company is a Black woman-owned feline product company and back in May, CEO Beatrice Dixon received backlash after loyal consumers noticed an unannounced ingredient change to a product.

A rumor started online that The Honey Pot was no longer Black-owned, with some consumers complaining about Black-owned companies that, quote, “sell out.” It turns out that she hadn’t sold the company, but has had supply chain issues throuought the pandemic which forced her to make some formula changes.

Unfortunately, the new formulas don’t agree with the chemistry of her loyal customers which only added to the backlash. That is why she recently visited The Breakfast Club to clear up any rumors and give her side of the story.

From one Black woman-owned business to another, we understand the supply chain struggle. What are your thoughts about the #HoneyPot fiasco? #BWLMđź’•
