Actress #TarajiPHenson announced today that she has been appointed by President #JoeBiden to serve on the #HBCU Board of Advisors!

Henson announced the new gif on Instagram and stated that since taking office, President Biden and Vice President #KamalaHarris have “invested 5.8 Billion in HBCU’s and I look forward to working with them to continue efforts to support these important institutions.”

The mission of the board is to “increase the capacity of HBCU’s to provide the highest-quality education to it’s students and continue serving as engines of opportunity…” per the White House. The #HBCUInitiative was reestablished by Biden in 2021.

Henson has been getting her philanthropy-on though! She launched the #BorisLawrenceHensonFoundation in 2018. The foundation provides scholarships to African-American students majoring in mental health. It also offers mental health services in urban schools, and works to lower recidivism rates.Where would we be without our HBCU’s? We know Taraji P. Gives her all in each role she’s played, so there’s no doubt she’ll fill this role to her best abilities. Rep your #HBCU in the comments! #BWLM💕
