The House has passed the #CrownAct which bans discrimination against natural hairstyles.

C.R.O.W.N. stands for ‘Creating a Respectful and Open World for Natural Hair’ and prohibits “discrimination based on an individual’s texture or style of hair,” so it extends not only to Black styles such as twist-outs and locs, but other natural hairstyles that have been notoriously labeled as “unkempt“.

Versions of the CROWN Act are already law in over a dozen states, incl. CA, NY & VA. The bill now headed to the Senate for approval. #BWLM💕
