#NickiMinaj revealed she received illegal butt injections in a new sit-down with rapper and media personality #JoeBudden for @TheJoeBuddenPod on Wednesday.
The rapper explained that after being around #LilWayne so much in the early years of her career and seeing the type of women that he kept around, she began to feel an adequate and wanted to change her body.
“[Lil’] Wayne, he was always talking about big booties. Wayne would have a new chick in the studio every session. It was always a new big booty there. They were his muses,” she said. Nicki later added that she ādidn’t feel complete or good enoughā because āThis is what you’re supposed to look like in the rap culture, and I don’t look like that.”
She now understands the impact of a personās words and how you can be so unaware of how they affect someone else.
āA lot of times, you don’t know how insecure a person is or what their insecurities are. So when you say certain things, around women especially, you can never take them back,” Minaj said. āSo where they might have been playing with me probably thinking ‘she’s confident, she’s good in her own skin,’ they don’t know that I always had that insecurity.”
During the interview, Budden asked if she holds herself accountable for influencing the butt-augmentation trend and she admitted that she does. āI was one of the first people saying ‘oh I’m not these people’s parents,’ but now I get it. I look at it from a different perspective now. Because superstars inadvertently become role models no matter what,” Minaj said.
Much respect to Nicki for being brave enough to share this! As we know now, there are so many risks associated with body augmentation, so be careful if you decide to do it! #BWLMš
