If you don’t know “What the 411” is, where have you been, sis?! #RealLove is just one of #MaryJBlige’s plethora of iconic songs off of this album which was her first song to hit the Top 10. It then became certified gold just two months after its release in 1992.
According to @Lifetime, the hit song will be reimagined for a Lifetime movie, with the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul herself executive producing the film.
“I wrote ‘Real Love’ based on my real life experiences and my fans connected to it in a deeply personal way,” Blige said in a statement. “It’s exciting to now use this song and my music to create a new story by way of film, continuing to build on a pillar of the foundation of my production company, Blue Butterfly. My passions for acting and music now include developing diverse stories with music as the backdrop. I am grateful to Lifetime for their partnership in the story of ‘Real Love.”
We can also expect to hear more music from Blige’s catalog as the entertainer and her Blue Butterfly production company seek to “bring more stories to life with music as the foundation.”
The “Real Love” movie will be written by #SonjaWarfield and #RachelIngram. Blige, #AshaunnaAyars, and #Nicole Jackson will be executive producing for #BlueButterfly while Jordan and John Davis will executive produce for Davis Entertainment. Sony Pictures Television will distribute the movie.
Blige has been doing her thing in front of the camera and behind the scenes for a while now, and we look forward to seeing the results of this soon-to-come iconic film. #BWLM💕
