The Bookmark Becomes a Viral Sensation

Corine Marie, a mom of four, turned a simple idea into a viral fashion success. Her invention, The Bookmark, is a stylish book carrier that makes reading look chic. Within months of its launch in October 2024, the product sold out quickly and gained massive attention online.

Marie recalled how the first run sold out in less than a month. “I went from selling 100 in three weeks to having like a thousand on backorder,” she said. Nearly a year later, The Bookmark has sold more than 10,000 units, proving that creativity mixed with smart marketing can change lives.

From Banking Job to Entrepreneurial Journey

Before inventing The Bookmark, Marie worked at a bank. But she wanted more flexibility and time with her daughter. “One of the biggest motivators for me is being a mom,” she explained. She wanted her daughter to have a better life and saw entrepreneurship as the path forward.

Marie had always been creative. She once ran a fashion studio and also wrote a romance novel. To promote that book, she thought of combining her love for reading and fashion. The result was The Bookmark, which blended her passions into a unique and marketable product.

Grit, Sports, and the Entrepreneurial Spirit

Marie’s drive didn’t come from nowhere. Growing up in foster care, she leaned on sports to push forward. Running track earned her a college scholarship and taught her lessons in discipline, resilience, and grit. “One of the things that saved me in life was running track,” she said.

She connected her athletic experience to business. “Talent only takes you so far … It’s really going the extra mile,” she noted. This mindset gave her the stamina to face challenges, learn marketing skills, and stay consistent in building her business.

Social Media Sparks Demand

The turning point came with social media. Marie shared The Bookmark online, and her audience responded instantly. The sleek design and innovative concept quickly caught attention, turning books into a must-have fashion accessory.

As demand grew, Marie realized she needed to scale bigger. She expanded her collection and is now preparing for a major restock to meet customer excitement. Her success shows how powerful digital platforms can be when paired with a great idea.

Protecting Creativity and Setting Boundaries

Success also brought challenges. With copycats appearing, Marie learned the importance of protecting her work. She navigated patents and intellectual property to secure her idea. “People treat you how you allow them to treat you,” she said, emphasizing the importance of self-advocacy.

Marie believes boundaries are key to sustaining growth. Her focus is on keeping her brand authentic while staying in control of her vision. This confidence has become an example for other women balancing creativity and business.

Building a Legacy Through Style and Determination

Marie views her success as more than just financial. With her daughter as her biggest inspiration, she is shaping a legacy of creativity, courage, and possibility. “Legacy is allowing yourself to dream and believe in the impossible,” she explained.

She encourages others to take action on their ideas. “There are so many ways that you can support yourself. You just have to go for it—put actions behind the things that you’re dreaming.” For Marie, The Bookmark is only the beginning of her story.
