Danika Berry, a successful entrepreneur and founder of Body Glam, recently marked a significant milestone by relaunching her brand at 50 years old. She not only overcame Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) but also redefined what success means to her. Berry’s inspiring story is a testament to resilience and the power of self-care.

Embracing Healing and Transformation

After years of struggling with extreme mood swings, anxiety, and exhaustion, Berry was diagnosed with PMDD. The condition, often mistaken for severe PMS, significantly impacted her mental clarity and work life. She recalls, “It wasn’t just PMS—it was something that affected every part of my life, from my mental clarity to my ability to function in my business.”

Her diagnosis brought clarity and a need for major lifestyle changes. Berry shifted her priorities, focusing on self-care, nutrition, and reducing stress. She found healing through prayer, yoga, pilates, and embracing sensory experiences. “The smallest details—a warm shower, a comforting fragrance, the luxurious feel of soft lather—can transform not just your skin, but your entire mood,” she shared.

Shifting From Hustle Culture to Self-Care

Berry once believed that relentless hard work was the only path to success. However, her health challenges forced her to reconsider. “For so long, I believed resting meant falling behind. But the truth is, ignoring my body didn’t make me stronger—it made me weaker,” she explained.

Taking a break from Body Glam was one of her toughest choices. Initially, she struggled with guilt, but soon recognized that rest wasn’t a failure—it was a strategy. “Stepping away wasn’t quitting. It was making sure I could return stronger than before,” Berry noted. Her break allowed her to realign her goals and find a healthier balance between work and wellness.

The Power of a Strong Support System

Berry attributes much of her healing journey to her support system. Her parents, along with close friends like Cynthia Bailey and Angel Love, provided unwavering support. “My parents were my foundation, constantly reminding me that my well-being was more important than any business or success,” she said.

This support reinforced her belief that healing involves not only personal efforts but also surrounding oneself with the right people. This realization helped Berry emerge with a new perspective on success and life.

The Empowering Relaunch of Body Glam

With a renewed focus on self-care, Berry relaunched Body Glam with products that promote luxury and wellness. Her brand’s offerings are designed to transform everyday routines into moments of indulgence and renewal.

Among her top products are That Pink Scrub, a hydrating watermelon foaming body polish, Pink Grapefruit Coffee Scrub, an energizing and firming exfoliator, and Coconut Coffee Scrub, a nourishing and hydrating body polish. These products reflect her journey of healing and her passion for creating sensory experiences that enhance well-being.

Finding Purpose and Redefining Success

Berry’s story is not just about overcoming PMDD but also about finding a deeper sense of purpose. “I no longer believe that working harder equals success,” she said. “Now, I focus on alignment—making sure that everything I do is in sync with what truly brings me joy, fulfillment, and peace.”

Her advice to others is clear: eliminate stress, build a balanced life, listen to your body, and create rituals that promote mental clarity. Her journey is a reminder that taking care of oneself is not a sign of weakness but a path to true empowerment.
