Miami’s 28th Annual American Black Film Festival (ABFF) became a hub of excitement as Netflix and The Black Excellence Brunch (BEB) joined forces to honor Andra Day for her starring role in the upcoming film, The Deliverance.
This exclusive event, held at Chotto Matte restaurant, marked a significant collaboration celebrating Black talent in the film industry.
An Exclusive Affair
The invite-only gathering drew a star-studded crowd, including notable figures like Bevy Smity, Cory Hardrict, and Jonica Booth, among others.
Attendees were treated to a lavish spread featuring a curated menu of sushi, chicken and waffles, Japanese pancakes, and vibrant cocktails. The ambiance reflected the upscale nature of the BEB event, fostering an atmosphere ripe for networking and celebration.
Andra Day’s Presence
Despite weather delays preventing her physical presence, Andra Day conveyed her appreciation virtually to attendees. She expressed gratitude towards director Lee Daniels and shared insights into her role in The Deliverance.
The film, slated for theatrical release on Aug. 16 followed by streaming availability on Netflix starting Aug. 30, promises to captivate audiences with its compelling narrative and stellar cast.
