This isn’t news but it is a call, for us to check on ourselves, not just others.
With the holidays quickly coming and going, it’s a lot in addition to what we’re bombarded with on a daily basis. From work, to personal life, to news and social media.
This is just simply a moment to remind you – to take care of yourself and that with that, it won’t always involve taking care of others. In light of many recent tragedies (outside of the fact we are certainly STILL in a pandemic), we’ve seen an influx to “check on your strong/happy/funny friends” etc. It’s been back to “Business as Usual” even when things aren’t back to the usual.
Please understand, sometimes the best help we can provide those we love, without taking on their burdens as our own, is to share the resources we know of and help them or lead them to the professionals.
You cannot pour from a cup that is empty nor should you ration out what little is left in your cup to give to others. You can still help and be supportive, even when the convo’s aren’t necessarily happening between you and a friend, confidant, partner or spouse.
If things aren’t feeling all that merry and bright right now, it is okay. What we want to make sure of though is that those feelings can be addressed in safe spaces and that we all receive the grace, mercy and assistance needed, in whatever capacity that may look like for us.
WE love you. We appreciate you. We are happy you’re here with us ❤️ #BWLM💕
